Petra is one of Jordan’s national treasures and by far its best known tourist attraction. Petra is the legacy of the Nabateans admired for their refined culture, massive architecture and ingenious complex of dams and water channels, Petra is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Much of Petra’s appeal comes from its spectacular setting deep inside a narrow desert gorge. We will begin through The Siq and continue our tour exploring chunks of this fantastic once-lost city which is full of tombs, temples, an impressive amphitheater and a Roman colonnaded street . The intrepid can ascend the hundreds of rock-cut steps to Ad-Deir. Better known as the Monastery , Ad-Deir has a similar facade to that of the Treasury, but is far bigger and the views from the  nearby cliff-tops are awesome.

    2. Through Petra Back door. This is a bit more adventurous and begins with a 20mins drive to the areas called Little Petra. This served as the trading area for the main site of Petra.
